Our Story
My little sister has been looking forward to a Disney World trip with her school band for months. It was supposed to be her chance to finally have a joyful experience with her peers and create memories she had been dreaming about. Unfortunately, that opportunity was taken away after a situation that has been building for years.
For a long time, my sister has been dealing with bullying at school. She has been targeted for things no child should ever feel ashamed of — her height, her weight, her appearance, and simply being different. Day after day she has gone to school feeling anxious, discouraged, and sometimes even afraid. She spoke up to adults. My mom called the school and reported concerns multiple times. We kept hoping things would change.
Recently, a situation escalated when another student physically hit my sister during an argument. After being struck, my sister defended herself and the situation turned into a physical altercation. Because of this incident, she has been placed in disciplinary alternative education and was told she can no longer attend the band’s Disney World trip.
My sister is absolutely heartbroken.
While we understand that schools have rules and consequences, it’s devastating to watch a child who has already endured so much lose something she was so excited about. This trip meant everything to her. It was supposed to be a moment where she could finally feel included and experience something joyful after years of struggling socially at school.
Our family has made the difficult decision to remove her from that school environment and start fresh somewhere she can feel safe and supported.
Because she can no longer attend the band trip, I want to do something special for her. I want to take her to Disney World myself so she can still experience the magic she has been looking forward to for so long. She deserves a moment of happiness after everything she’s been through.
I’m starting this fundraiser to help cover travel, park tickets, and lodging so we can take this trip together and give her something positive to hold onto during a really difficult time.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send kind words, it would mean the world to our family.
Thank you for helping me remind my little sister that she matters and that brighter moments are still ahead.
