The Story:
Hi there, My name is Alfie Turner.
Three years ago, I saved up every penny to buy a drone, not just as a tool, but as a gateway to explore the world from above. That drone became an extension of me, capturing breathtaking sunsets, sweeping landscapes, and documenting stories that only the skies could tell. Over time, it became more than just my passion—it became my way of helping others.
With my drone, I assisted neighbours and locals, inspecting rooftops after storms, showcasing homes to potential buyers, and capturing special moments from a unique perspective. Most of the time, I did this without asking for anything in return, because the joy of helping someone while doing what I love was enough.
A few weeks ago, my drone’s journey came to an abrupt end. While filming along a cliffside, a miscalculation sent it spiralling into the sea. I managed to retrieve it within seconds, but the salty water had already done its damage. My drone, my trusty companion for three years, was gone.
Now, I find myself grounded. Without a drone, I can’t continue sharing those perspectives or doing what I love most. That’s why I’m turning to you. I’m hoping to raise €1,500 to replace the drone and get back to the skies. Every donation, no matter the size, will not only help me fly again but will also enable me to keep helping my community and telling stories from the air.

What will I do with the money raised?
I am hoping to raise this specific amount to purchase the DJI Mavic Air 3s. It is the updated version of the drone I lost at sea. The fly more package which consists of 3 batteries, the drone and the controller, is the best value for money as it enables me to stay in the sky for up to an hour and a half.
The Mavic Air 3S is renowned for its dual-camera system. With a wide-angle and medium telephoto lens, I can capture everything from expansive landscapes to precise, detailed shots that bring stories to life. This flexibility means I can offer clients, neighbours, and my community better-quality visuals, whether I’m inspecting a roof, showcasing real estate, or capturing a once-in-a-lifetime memory from above.
Another reason this drone stands out is its enhanced low-light performance. With larger sensors and advanced HDR capabilities, the Mavic Air 3S excels at capturing detailed footage even during sunrise, sunset, or twilight—the golden hours when the most breathtaking moments happen.
The improved obstacle avoidance system offers better safety when flying in tricky environments like forests, urban areas, or, of course, along rugged coastlines, (Obviously greatly needed ) where precision is key.
It also includes a reliable return-to-home feature and enhanced wind resistance, giving me peace of mind during shoots, especially in unpredictable conditions.
