Update: Why I’m Now Setting the Full £30,000 Goal

When I first launched this fundraiser, I set a lower initial target. At the time, I needed to know whether people would believe me, support me, and stand with me.
You did — and I’m deeply grateful.

I’m now being honest about what it actually takes to bring this matter to a conclusion.

The reality is that justice has a real cost, particularly when an individual homeowner is forced to take on a major insurer through formal legal routes.

Why £30,000 Is the Real Figure
This is not an inflated or speculative number. It reflects the genuine, unavoidable costs of progressing a case that has already been upheld through independent complaints processes but cannot be resolved without court action.
The funds will be used for:

Specialist legal advice and drafting
Expert evidence already identified as necessary
Court fees and procedural costs
Targeted legal support to force resolution rather than allow further delay
Expert and legal costs have already exceeded £60,000 to reach this point.
This fundraising goal allows me to finish the job, not begin it.

Why This Matters
For over six years, I have lived in just one upstairs bedroom of my home, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The ground floor remains uninhabitable. I have no proper kitchen, limited electricity, and no normal living space.
My insurance claims following three floods were refused.
Every complaint I brought to the Financial Ombudsman Service was upheld in my favour.

Yet because the value of my losses exceeds the Ombudsman’s compensation limit, I cannot accept those decisions without pursuing legal enforcement.

Large organisations can wait. Individuals cannot.

If You’re Wondering Whether £30,000 Is “Too Much”
It isn’t — not when:
The claimed losses are valued at over £1 million
Independent findings already support the claim
The funds are being used to enforce accountability, not chase a gamble
If 600 people give £50, the target is met.
If 300 give £100, it’s met.
If 60 give £500, it’s met.
This is collective action.

Help Me Seek Justice After Repeated Floods and Insurance Refusal
Goal: £5,500 | Location: Shropshire/Staffordshire Border
My name is Debrah, and I’m reaching out for support to help me raise the profile of my plight and help fund legal representation in a long and painful fight for justice against AXA Insurance UK.

My Home Has Flooded Three Times — But My Claims Were Denied

Since 2019, my home has been devastated by three separate floods — in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Each time, the entire ground floor was stripped back to bare concrete and brick. I lost 90% of my personal possessions, including family photographs and deeply sentimental items that are truly irreplaceable.

After all this, I’ve been forced to live in just my upstairs bedroom for the past 5½ years, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I have:
- No kitchen — I rely on an air fryer and small appliances to cook.
- No fixed electricity upstairs — I have to unplug the fridge just to use the hairdryer.
- No habitable ground floor — no space, no comfort, and no peace of mind.

The Fight So Far

I was insured by AXA Insurance UK, and I made my claims in good faith. But despite the overwhelming damage, AXA refused to pay out.

I turned to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), and every single one of my complaints was upheld in my favour.

Yet I remain stuck in limbo — because the total value of my claims exceeds the FOS’s compensatory limit, meaning I cannot accept the decisions and settle the matter without pursuing legal action.

Axa Also Lost My Personal Data

As if the physical damage wasn’t enough, AXA’s handling of my IT equipment caused further distress.

After the 2019 flood, AXA’s agents removed my computer, laptop, and other digital devices. They were supposed to:
- Securely remove all personal data
- Transfer that data to a new hard drive
- Destroy the old hardware securely

Instead, they lost all the equipment completely. Worse still, they attempted to deny having ever removed it.

Thankfully, I had photographs showing AXA’s contractors taking the items away. The FOS again ruled in my favour, recognising the mishandling of both my property and personal data — yet I am still without compensation or closure.

Why I Need Your Help

I have already spent over £20,000 on legal fees and associated costs trying to hold AXA accountable.

Now, I am seeking £30,000 to:
- Continue using solicitors to take the case further
- Commission further expert reports
- Cover court filing fees and representation if necessary

This isn’t just about insurance — it’s about justice. It’s about standing up to a powerful corporation that has not only failed to protect my home, but has added insult to injury by losing my personal data and refusing to acknowledge the truth.

Every Donation Helps

Whether you can give £5 or £500, every donation makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please share this page with your friends, community, or social media networks.

I’ve lost my belongings, my safe home, and years of peace — but I haven’t lost hope. With your help, I can finally bring this case before a court and fight for justice.
