This is a long shot, and I wanted to avoid doing this type of fundraising ask, but as some of you might have seen my car was stolen in less than a week of moving to D.C. It has since been declared a complete loss by my insurance company. Due to this, I am facing quite a few issues.
First, I still have payments left on the car.
Second, my insurance company is not paying me enough to pay off my lean holder, as they are deducting for all the damage caused to my car.
Third, I do not know if I can even secure a loan to replace my car, due to my student loan debt and other debt I have from before attending law school.
Fourth, I may no longer be able to take the bar exam because of this situation. I was planning to take out a bar loan in order to take the bar in July. However, if I need a loan for a replacement car there is no way I can take out a bar loan.
Fifth, I’m currently stranded in D.C. with a dog, cat and my stuff and have no way of getting home.
Any help would be appreciated. This situation I find myself in is not conducive to a friendly learning experience, and as of right now I regret chasing this experience and law school in general.
I thank you for your consideration and I understand if you cannot help-we all have our own issue we are dealing with. Just know that I appreciate your consideration.
