Hi everyone,

This October I will be travelling to Sri Lanka to volunteer with The Mighty Roar’s Dog Rescue Programme, and I’m raising funds to help support their life-saving work with the country’s stray dog population.

Sri Lanka has an estimated 3 million stray dogs living on the streets many of whom suffer immensely through malnutrition, untreated diseases and horrific injuries generally caused by humans. Without help, most will never receive even the most basic care.

The Mighty Roar run an amazing programme dedicated to helping these animals — but they rely heavily on donations to keep going.

What the Programme Does

• Rescue and treat injured and sick street dogs

• Provide food, shelter and rehabilitation

• Run neutering campaigns to reduce the number of strays (it costs around £25 to neuter just one dog)

• Organise vaccinations for diseases like Rabies

While in Sri Lanka, I’ll be volunteering in the village of Akurala, my role will be to:

• Help feed and care for the dogs living on the street

• Perform health checks on dogs and identify any who need medical attention

• Assist vets during neutering and treatment

• Support rescue missions and help rehabilitate new arrivals

I’m fully funding my own travel so 100% of your donation will go straight to the dogs and the sanctuary.
