Hi, my name is Tegan, and I’m raising money to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — also known as the Special Baby Unit — that cared for my baby girl at the Grange Hospital.
She was born 6 weeks early, weighing just 3lb 11oz, and spent time in the NICU. Handing over my tiny baby and watching her be placed into an incubator was one of the hardest moments of my life. It was frightening, overwhelming, and emotional in ways I can’t fully describe.
During our time there, the care, kindness, and dedication shown by the staff supported not only my baby, but our entire family. They work tirelessly to give the tiniest babies the very best chance, while also comforting anxious parents during one of the most difficult times imaginable.
While in the unit, I learned how much simple items mean to these tiny babies.
Muslin cloths are used to carefully make up the babies’ beds inside the incubators, providing softness and comfort in a clinical environment. When babies are well enough to come out for cuddles and precious bonding time, blankets are used to wrap them up and help keep their tiny bodies warm and safe.
Not all families are able to bring their own blankets or supplies with them to the hospital, so many rely entirely on what the unit can provide.
I have already donated one batch of items myself, but I would love to do even more to support other families walking this same path. This hospital will forever hold a special place in my heart for everything they did for my baby girl. Being able to give something back — even in a small way — feels incredibly meaningful to me.
For full transparency, all donations will be used to purchase muslin cloths and baby blankets. I will share receipts of everything purchased, along with photos of the items being donated to the hospital.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read, donate, or share this fundraiser. Your kindness will help bring comfort, warmth, and love to the tiniest babies and their families when they need it most.
