Hello family and friends,
In the past few years, I’ve found counseling to be one of the greatest needs among my congregation as well as the broader Asian American community. It's impacted greatly the way I do pastoral ministry. I'm so thankful for the training I've been receiving and the opportunities I get to serve others with it.
It is true that there still remains a negative stigma in Asian culture about seeking counseling, both inside and outside the church; but we've been seeing that change in our community over the past couple years, for which I am so thankful. A lot still remains to be done, but I'm so hopeful for our future.
I've also found my personal passion for couples/marriage counseling growing, paralleling the growing demand for it as well. So, I'm hoping to continue with further training after I complete the MACC degree program (which I'm close to completing), either through another degree or certificate program.
I'm entering what feels like the last leg of this race, and I'm so thankful to have come this far. My fundraising efforts encompass both the MACC degree program and further certification training thereafter. Thank you so much for all of your support.
Feel free to sign up for my personal newsletter and stay updated on my future journey as well (http://eepurl.com/hg7w0T).
Thank you guys so much for your support!
Love, Sungyak John Kim
