Hello! Thank you so much for coming to my page.
I have recently been accepted to study at the Pardes Learning Institute this summer in Jerusalem. As many of you know, I am very active in my local Jewish community and take advantage of as many learning opportunities and leadership roles as I can. This opportunity to study full time in Israel this summer would be a dream come true.
I anticipate that this program would be an incredible opportunity to learn and study Bible, Tanakh and Talmud full time and that both my skills and my confidence will improve significantly throughout the course of the summer. Studying at Pardes will provide me with a sophisticated textual knowledge and proficiency. I hope to develop better close-reading and analytical skills when it comes to sacred text.
I am looking forward to nurturing my connection and engagement with Tefillah and experiencing a more profound connection with the divine. Ultimately, I want to deepen my Jewish engagement and have the opportunity to engage with fellow seekers. To see how we can learn from and challenge each other to shape our Jewish practice as individuals and as a community.
This education will ultimately shape my role and contributions as a part of the Jewish community at large, where I will be able to share the knowledge that I have acquired at Pardes. To me, that is the most important way to embody the divine in our midst.
The money that I am raising will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition and books
- Airfare
- Lodgings in Jerusalem (unless you know of a friend or family member in Jerusalem who would be willing to host me for low rent or I would earn my keep through babysitting, house keeping, etc)
- Food
