I am fundraising to help fund my study abroad trip to Spain. Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, I learned early on that traveling is a luxury not everyone is afforded. In our community, many families do not have the opportunity to explore beyond home, which has made me deeply aware of how special this experience truly is. Spain stood out to me because it offers such a rich blend of culture, history, and language that I’ve always been curious about. I’ve always believed that the best learning happens outside of the classroom, and studying in Spain will allow me to experience a new way of life while gaining a global perspective on education and community. Being immersed in a different culture will challenge me to step outside of my comfort zone, become more independent, and grow both personally and academically. This experience will help me better understand the world beyond my own community and bring that perspective back into my future career. As someone who hopes to work closely with children and families, I believe exposure to different cultures and educational systems will help me become more open-minded, empathetic, and adaptable. Studying abroad in Spain isn’t just about traveling for me — it’s about learning how to see the world differently and using that growth to positively impact others in the future.

Being given the chance to study abroad in Spain is something I do not take lightly, and I feel incredibly grateful to even be able to pursue it.
