UPDATE: After two denials, a peer-to-peer call was coordinatd between Dr. Burt and the insuance company medical director. After this call, insurance has overurned their decision and will be covering my transplant. I am so grateful for the donations I have received. Hello, my name is Richard , and in February of this year, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This was after I had an attack which left me barely able to walk, and was admitted to the ER. I have been getting worse rapidly, and have been told I have a very aggressive course of the disease. According to doctors MS is incurable and the standard treatment is to be put on immune suppressants, for the rest of your life, which doesn't stop progression of disability, only slows it down, and comes with lots of side effects. Luckily, there is another option; HSCT for autoimmune disease. This treatment uses chemotherapy to erase my immune system and reboot it with my own stem cells, in effect erasing the immune memory and halting the disease, as well as likely reversing some of the disability I have already gained (bladder issues, extreme and frequent blurred vision, limited function of my arms and legs, chronic pain, muscle spasms and extreme fatigue.) When this treatment is performed in the early stages of the disease it is far more effective.

Please consider donating any amount that you can, so that I can preserve my future. I will be eternally grateful for any and all donations, I simply do not have the means to pay for this procedure on my own at this time, and it is urgent that I get it done as soon as possible. My health insurance has refused to pay for the treatment, and my appeals have been denied.
