Hi, my name is Jamie, and I’m 5 months sober and working hard to rebuild my life. I recently used my retirement savings to buy a car so I could get to work, attend treatment, and be there for my kids. It gave me a sense of independence and hope I hadn’t felt in a long time. Unfortunately, my car suffered a major mechanical failure and is no longer drivable. I just started a new job and am committed to my outpatient treatment, but without reliable transportation, staying on track has become much harder.
Having a working vehicle would help me get to and from appointments, work, school events, church, grocery shopping, and future health appointments for my kids in Anchorage. It’s not just about getting from place to place—it’s about being present for my family, staying committed to my recovery, and continuing to build a better life for myself and my children.
I am deeply grateful for any support, no matter how small. I am doing my best to keep my head and faith up, and your help would mean the world to me. Together, even small acts of kindness can move mountains. Thank you for believing in me.
