I'm a 46-year-old mathematician, statistician, and web application developer living in Pembrokeshire with my elderly disabled mother, whom I care for. For the past five years, my electric tricycle has been my lifeline to the outside world—it's the only way I can exercise and maintain my independence.

Due to multiple health conditions including herniated spinal disk, scoliosis, and severe panic disorder, I can only walk about 10 meters. My back issues cause chronic pain and leg numbness, while my panic disorder triggers severe physical reactions to any form of stress, including walking. I've lived with these conditions since 2005 and 2012 respectively.

Can't you just get a regular bike?
