Help a Student Founder with a greater purpose

Hi, I’m Sam nice to meet you. I’m here in Silicon Valley as a undergrad college student and first time founder. I am looking for support to stay for the huge opportunity to be shown around Draper University.

Thanks to the generosity of the Startup Grind team, I’ve spent the past few days immersed in conversations with some of the brightest minds in entrepreneurship. This has strengthened my foundation as I move forward soon applying to both Draper University and Y Combinator. Getting involved early with these world class accelerators could open doors not only for my mission but further enables me with knowledge, connections, and opportunities to share with fellow students.

 Every dollar helps me stay present in the rooms that are helping shape who I’m becoming as a founder, enabling me to grow with intention, originality and purpose. I’ll be writing a detailed report to share the knowledge I’ve gained with students at my university. I’ve been so fortunate with this opportunity and have access to the insights, resources, and conversations in Silicon Vally. It’s only right I give back to the community who helped me get here in the first place. I believe in building for community and that starts with sharing what I learn in the limited time I have in Silicon Valley.

With all my gratitude I’m asking for to to help support or share my cause. You’re not just helping me stay, but helping me grow into the kind of founder who leads with purpose, gives back, and follows through. 

My outlook for the future is so bright, I want to share a little story. Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting Mario, an Uber driver who was one of the kindest people I’ve ever talked to. Our conversation gave me even more hope for the road ahead. I actually reported something as lost just so I could try to get back in touch, not because I left anything behind, but because I didn’t want to lose that connection. I told him when I make it where I’m going, he has to find me. People like him remind me why I’m doing this. Why kindness and compassion matter. Why love and belief in something bigger are powerful forces.  

I’m not here to just build something great. I’m here to do it with heart, to bring people with me, and to leave this world better than I found it. Thank you to everyone who’s shown me what that looks like. We’re just getting started!
