I don’t usually ask for help like this, but I’m in a situation where I really need it. I was recently served custody paperwork for my 2-year-old daughter, Kennedy, and have until April 24th to respond. If I don’t, I could lose my rights as her father and more, and that’s not something I can let happen. I’ve found a lawyer willing to work with me, but I need support to get started. I’m currently out of work, but I’m part of the Carpenters Union and have jobs lined up—it’s just not soon enough to meet this deadline.

Even though my co-parent and I may not see eye to eye, I truly believe that shouldn’t affect my ability to be in Kennedy’s life. She deserves to have both parents, and I just want the chance to continue being there for her. I know I’m not perfect, but I’m working on myself every day and currently in counseling to become a better man and a better father. If you know me, you know how much my kids mean to me. Being a father means everything to me. My kids are my biggest motivation to keep going every day, no matter what. I’ve always done my best to be present and provide for them, and I’m not ready to lose that over a financial setback.
