Hi everyone, this is very hard for me to write, but I am reaching out because I truly need help right now. For the past year, I have been working as a household manager and nanny for a family in Minneapolis. Recently, the father of the family was detained by ICE, and as a result, I suddenly lost my job while the family is trying to navigate their next steps. This unexpected situation has left me without income. Because of this, I am now behind on my rent and will not be able to make my February payment. I am deeply worried about eviction, especially during the extreme winter weather. I have always worked hard to support myself, and asking for help like this is not easy for me.
The good news is that I have recently been hired by Minneapolis Public Schools and will be starting within the next couple of weeks. I am very grateful for this opportunity, but until then, I have no income coming in and no way to catch up on rent or basic expenses. I am asking for help to cover my rent and essential living costs during this short gap in employment so I can stay housed and stable while I wait to start my new job. Any amount helps more than I can express, and if you are unable to donate, sharing this means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you are able to give. It truly means everything to me during this difficult moment.
When you take on the role as a nanny, you are more than just that. You become family, and my family is broken and I truly don’t know what to do
