Help me stay close to Freddie
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Imee. For the past 8 months my boy (Freddie, 17months old) and I have spent 6 months in Southampton hospital. He has a genetic disorder called SCN2A epileptic encephalopathy. He gets caught in cycles of seizures that he needs heavy sedation to break, and then he needs support in dealing with the withdrawals from the medicines and maintaining his seizures. The most recent cycle was triggered by freddie having a common cold. This condition is life limiting and we have been told that he won't make double digits. However, we are determined to make the most of the precious time we have with him.
I am asking for funds while he is in Southampton hospital again to help me stay healthy and close to him. I am currently staying at the Ronald Mcdonald house (they are amazing) and have to live off the charity donation boxes for food due my my financial situation. (crisps and chocolate mostly which are a great pick me up but not healthy meals.) As a result my energy levels have taken a hit and i have been forced to stay away from freddie so as not to make him worse. I am unable to afford to pay for the washing tokens to clean my clothes or Freddie's blankets and I can't ask my husband to collect the laundry as he is at home with Freddie's twin brother and their big sister (32 months old) . This is the longest time freddie has had to stay in the PICU and we will probably be in for at least a month while he recovers.
These hospital stays are an extremely trying time for our family as we have to be apart from each other and with the added complexity of freddies condition causing the inevitable stress of potentially losing a child.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated i will use the funds to get healthier food, any medications that i may need and to keep on top of the laundry. This will help to ease some stress from our situation.
Many thanks
