Help me stay afloat till my PR gets approved
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Gary Pereira.
So, I'll start at the beginning. I got married to my wife in 2020. In 2021, she had a severe manic break and refused medication. It got so bad that she made an attempt on my life and flipped our home upside down. Work was not possible because my PR application was in processing, which I later found out was not filed properly. My wife was applying to sponsor me, but unfortunately, she skipped some important steps and my PR application never went through.
Fast forward to 2023, she is refusing counselling for reconciliation; so I have filed for divorce and must wait for that to end so that I can restart my PR application.
Trying to set aside the emotional grief this situation has caused me, my biggest obstacle at this time is that I cannot legally work in Canada until this is sorted out and I've been staying at a friend's place until I get back on my feet. I truly want to contribute to rent and be able to pay for my own groceries and phone bill, but I haven't been able to find any means of making money. Zero options are presenting themselves. This limbo could go on for several months...
I will add, if there are any small, temporary opportunities in Toronto proper or the Greater Toronto Area (i.e. dogwalking, general labour, etc) I would be extremely grateful for leads.
I realize that there are more deserving causes for a GoFundMe page, but I also don't want to be homeless. Since I have few options and resources, I’m posting this plea to see if anyone might be willing to help me out at this really rocky point in my life.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
