Hi, my name is Demetra, I'm 22, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times of my life.
I was recently let go from my job due to a chronic medical condition I’ve been managing for years: Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D). It’s a condition that affects me daily—physically, emotionally, and financially. Despite doing everything I could to keep working, the symptoms became too unpredictable to manage in a full-time job setting, and I lost my position.
Why I’m Asking for Help
Since losing my job, I’ve been trying to stay on top of basic expenses like rent, food, and medical care. I’m actively applying for assistance and looking into flexible or remote work options that fit within the limits of my condition. But right now, I’m facing a financial gap that I can’t fill on my own.
Your support will help cover the essentials and give me the time I need to stabilize my health and refocus efforts on finding a high paying job as before (Frito-Lay)
Monthly Expenses
Here’s a simple breakdown of my monthly costs:
Rent & Utilities: $1,590
Food & Essentials: $150
Medical Expenses: $250
Total Monthly Need: $1,990
My goal is to raise $5,970 to cover 3 months to help me through this period of idleness and healing.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate, even just a small amount, I would be deeply grateful. Every dollar helps relieve some of the stress and allows me to focus on my health.
And if you’re not in a place to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you for your time and your support. I don't usually ask for help, but figured I'd give it a try.
With gratitude,
Demetra J Simmons
