In the coming year, 2017, I will undergo a stem cell transplant to cure me of sickle cell disease that has plagued me my entire life. I've had countless sickle cell crises and pain everyday of my life. However, the most devastating event of my life came in May 2002 when I had a stroke that interrupted my education to become a physician. I was a third year medical student at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm asking for help to help start my new life after this cure as I have not been able to continue my training as a doctor after fthe stroke , and thus do not have the funds to help me lead a "normal life." Any and every amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration in helping with the new phase of my life.
