Hi my name is Drew. Recently I was hospitalised in toxic shock with a fever of 41.4 ° and severe symptoms similar to meningitis. Over the next 13 days under the care of the infectious diseases team, i was in a fight for my life, nearly lost a couple of times. A sepsis infection ravaged my spine from the C1 to the T2 with significant damage resulting in the C4,C5 and C6. The infection tried to get to the spinal chord, I was told 50/50. 50° fatal and 50° likely paralysis from the neck down. My medical team wrestled me back, then the sepsis went after my lungs, giving me double Pnuemonia before heading to my heart, where it was detected on the valves of my heart. Canulas were removed and a PICC line was put in - straight into my heart. I was told that if this didn't work, they would have to open me up and wash the infection away manually. The odds? 5 - 8% survival. Thankfully my medical team wrestled me back again. While I am home as an outpatient, spinal correction surgery is needed as I have a bulging disc at C6 that is pressing on my spinal chord with bruising on the chord. Same disc is bulging out the left side and pressing on my nerves of my left arm. I am needing support guys for possibly a year, 6 months definately. If you can assist, thank you for your generosity....
