Let's rally & donate $2000 to the United Negro College Fund!

Hello, my name is Janelle, and I’m inviting you to join me in making a meaningful contribution to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) through the upcoming inaugural Mayor's Ball.

I will be attending the event as a patron, but I believe we can do even more by coming together as a community to support this important cause. One powerful way to contribute is through a $2,000 sponsorship tier, which helps fund scholarships and initiatives that uplift students of color.

To reach this goal, I’m calling on friends, family, and anyone who believes in the power of education and opportunity to chip in. Whether you give a little or a lot, every donation counts. This is not about sponsoring a literal table for the event. While that’s an option, I’ve chosen to direct 100 percent of the funds raised toward the scholarship fund, rather than event catering or logistics.

Many of us have benefitted directly or indirectly from the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). For Caribbean students and other international students of color, HBCUs have often opened doors through full and partial scholarships. This is our chance to give back and pay it forward, keeping those doors open for others to walk through.

Let’s remind our youth that they matter, that we believe in their potential, and that a community stands behind them. No contribution is too small. Each drop fills the bucket.

I’ve also included below a brief excerpt from Shaw University about the incredible work UNCF does, along with direct links to articles, sponsorship details, and the official event page—should you or your organization prefer to donate directly.

Thank you so much for your support. Let’s be the village that lifts our children and our community.
With gratitude,
Janelle
