When I was 11 years old, I made the decision to switch from a public school to a Jewish school. I grew up without understanding many Jewish values and never learned how to read or write in Hebrew. It's safe to say that this decision changed the course of my life and who I was as a person. As the years went on, I began to learn about my religion and even started to have the motivation to grow. I joined Valley Torah in 9th grade, and they've helped me continue to grow. Now that I've graduated, seminary is where I want to head next.
I know that a year in seminary will help me continue to not only better understand my religion and help me grow, but fill in the gaps of knowledge that I wasn't able to attain when I was younger. It'll really help mold me into the person I hope to become.
My family is giving me limited support with my decision to spend the year in Israel, so now I'm turning to you to help me achieve this goal. Going to seminary is not something that I would've ever dreamed of attending in the past, but thanks to all my teachers, I've grown and realized how big this could be for me.
Please help me make this dream a reality.
Thank you.
We as local Rabbis and principals, support this project.
We have watched this student grow throughout her time in high school. She has shown tremendous spiritual achievements and a deep yearning for Kedusha. Your support will enable her to reach new heights in all areas of her life. We urge everyone to help with this, as this needs much communal support.
