My journey to fix my smile began a little over two years ago, but the past six months have been the hardest. I’ve been living without any teeth, and the dentures I was given just don’t work for me. Eating and speaking have become daily struggles. My speech has changed so much that I barely recognize my own voice, and I’m constantly asked to repeat myself. It’s exhausting and has left me feeling isolated, slipping into depression, and not wanting to talk to anyone.

I work as an IHSS provider, and while I do my best to care for others, I haven’t been able to afford the dental implants I need—specifically the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedures for both my upper and lower jaw. These implants would make a world of difference, allowing me to eat, speak, and feel like myself again. The cost, however, is far beyond my reach.

This holiday season has been especially tough. I haven’t wanted to be involved in family gatherings or be seen in public. Thanksgiving was not easy to attend—I didn’t want to talk to anyone and refused to sit down and eat at the table with family and friends. I feel like the fun, witty, confident person I once was is slipping away. Any support you can give would mean the world to me and help me get my smile and confidence back.
