I will be 40 in February, and for more than 30 years, I have struggled with dental issues that have deeply affected my confidence and my life. When I was 6 years old, I was in an accident that caused severe oral trauma, which led to my adult teeth growing in incorrectly. There wasn’t anything anyone could do at the time, and as I grew older, the impact became more noticeable. By the time I was about 12, other kids started to tease me about my teeth, and I noticed that people would often stare at my mouth when I spoke, smiled, or laughed. This made me feel extremely self-conscious and contributed to years of depression, social anxiety, and self-esteem issues. It has affected my social and professional life in many ways, making it difficult to feel comfortable in my own skin.
Over the years, I have tried to accept my situation as just the way things are, but the way I feel inside has never really changed. I guard my smile, cover my mouth when I laugh, and always wonder in the back of my mind how people might be judging me because of my teeth. I want to get dental implants so that, for the first time, I can feel comfortable smiling, laughing, and talking without fear or embarrassment. The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of the implants, giving me the chance to finally experience the simple joy of sharing a smile.
I don’t believe anyone owes me anything in this life, and I will be forever grateful for anything anyone can offer to help me get closer to my goal. Your support would mean the world to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and consider helping me on this journey.
