Help me sing abroad. Once-in-a-lifetime oppy
Donation protected
My name is Hayley Tagliaferro, and I'm raising funds for an opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Europe in July of 2023 as part of the American Music Abroad program. I'm a Cherokee High School senior in Marlton, NJ, and I've been singing from an early age.
When I was selected to be a part of the American Music Abroad, I was excited because music is my passion in life, especially singing. I started singing at the age of 4 with the community programs in the Marlton area, and my parents made it possible for me to attend some voice lessons as well.
Once I started school, I joined the choir and have been singing every year since. With the Choir at Cherokee, we have performed for many local organizations. Recently this year, our choir had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the opening of a Phillies game, which was a fantastic opportunity.
The America Music Abroad program is one that the Association of American Voices administers on behalf of the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It is designed to communicate America’s rich musical contributions to the global music scene as it fosters cross-cultural communication and people-to-people connection to global audiences.
More about me
As a senior at Cherokee High School, I am applying to Rowan, Rutgers, University of Pennsylvania, and New York University with plans to major in Biology.
I have been involved in clubs such as the students' movement against cancer, renaissance, astronomy, and the National Honor Society here at Cherokee.
Outside of school, I'm a member of the National Society of high school scholars. I like to volunteer and make donations to different causes. Two causes that I'm most passionate about are the fight against cancer and suicide prevention. My mother and I raise money for foundations like Out Of The Darkness and Run The Day. Out of the Darkness is a 16-mile
walk to raise funds for suicide prevention, and Run The Day is an overdose awareness and memorial walk/run.
Earlier this, I lost my brother. He was my best friend and shared a love of music with me. I cannot express enough how much your generous donation will help me in my journey.
I am seeking donations to help with my travel costs to participate in the American Music Abroad program and sing my heart out.
My goal is to raise $5,000.00. Any little bit will help.
