On Tuesday, August 4th, I experienced something no parent should ever have to go through. I arrived at my apartment before work to quickly grab my ID, only to find my front door wide open and two men inside my home removing my belongings. I was told that I had been evicted, even though I had not been evicted. When I asked for proof, I was shown documentation with a completely different address. I immediately informed them that they were in the wrong building. Some of my belongings were left outside in a filthy truck and became wet and damaged. I also discovered that some of my shoes and jewelry were missing. One of my necklaces was eventually returned after the police and my mother became involved.

My apartment and belongings were left damaged and in disarray. My floors and walls were marked, and my furniture and beds were handled carelessly, including being thrown or dragged down the stairs.

What hurts me the most is that this happened in the place where I am supposed to feel safest: my home, where I raise my children. I am now dealing with damaged property, damaged belongings, the emotional trauma of what happened, and the fear of not knowing how something like this could happen in the first place. I am starting this GoFundMe to help cover legal fees so I can obtain an attorney and properly pursue justice and accountability for what happened to me and my children. I want to make sure this situation is investigated and that the people responsible are held accountable for the damage, loss, and distress this has caused my family. I work extremely hard to provide for my children, and having to deal with something like this has been overwhelming. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to us.
