Traveling to Europe has always been a dream of mine. I’ve imagined what it would be like to see the Eiffel Tower in person and experience a new continent for the first time. The idea of exploring Europe and soaking in its culture has been on my heart for as long as I can remember.
Separately, I’ve also dreamed of seeing Celine Dion perform live in Europe. My mom introduced me to Celine’s music when I was little, and it quickly became a special bond between us. Over the years, I’ve tried to make this dream happen, but life kept getting in the way. My first attempt was as a Girl Scout, but my mom, who struggled with addiction, took the fundraising money I had worked so hard to earn. Later, in college, I planned to study abroad, but the covid-19 pandemic forced me to cancel. My third try was at age 24, but I realized I wouldn’t graduate on time if I left. My mom passed away from an overdose during my senior year of high school, but I’ll always be grateful that she introduced me to music that helped me through tough times. Even though our relationship was rocky, music was something we could always share. Inspired by her struggles, I’ve become a drug and alcohol therapist to help others avoid the same path.
Now, with Celine performing in Paris this fall, I have another chance to make both of these dreams a reality—traveling to Europe for the first time and seeing my favorite artist perform in a city I’ve always wanted to visit. The funds raised will help cover my travel expenses, including airfare, room and board, and concert tickets. Thank you so much for supporting my journey and helping make my dream come true.
