My name is Chana, and I’m a licensed therapist and coach. I was born and raised in the U.S., and after years of working with clients internationally, I made the decision to return to Israel just a few months ago.

I came back with a plan.

I had savings. My caseload was about half full. I felt steady enough to take the leap, and I was ready to rebuild. I planned to expand my therapy practice and support individuals navigating difficult transitions. I also wanted to grow my second business and create more long-term stability for myself.

But shortly after I arrived, everything began to unravel.

The housing situation I had lined up fell through. I had to move almost immediately. Then I moved again. Eventually I found the right apartment in a quiet neighborhood, next to a friend and colleague, but it won’t be ready until July. In the meantime, I’ve been staying with a friend.

Recent events in the region have made it difficult to maintain steady work. I lost a full paycheck this past week when everything shut down, and with my living situation still temporary, it’s been very hard to take on new clients or grow my income. I’ve moved three times in six months while trying to hold everything together and continue supporting my current clients.

Normally I figure things out on my own.

That’s how I was raised, and that’s what I’ve always done.

But right now I need a little extra help to land and get grounded again.

I’m trying to raise a minimum of $2,000 to secure the apartment and finalize the move. Anything beyond that will help me purchase basic appliances like a refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, and dryer-anything to create a functional home so I can continue seeing clients and working from a stable space.

The apartment has a built-in safe room, which means I can keep working uninterrupted and feel safe sleeping at night with my dog. This would be my first stable home since moving back.

I’ve also been asked to return to the gan where I used to work to offer support for children and parents who are struggling right now. I want to be able to show up for them fully. But I need a home in order to do that.
