I recently found out, on very short notice, that I am facing a critical immigration deadline. I am currently in the process of applying for legal protection in the United States under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), based on sexual harassment I experienced when I was 16.

Unfortunately, I only have until May 11 to move forward with my case. If I am unable to do so, I will be required to leave the country permanently, and most likely without the ability to return. This is devastating for me, as my entire life is here; my family, my friends, and everything I have worked so hard to build.

I graduated from high school early and have been working ever since, doing everything I can to create a stable and successful future for myself. I am about to start college and take the next step toward that future. However, unexpected issues with my documents brought this situation to light, and now I am in a race against time.

The biggest barrier right now is the cost of attorney fees to properly file my case, immigration medical exams, and psychological evaluations and documentation. These are essential for submitting my application, but they are very expensive and difficult for me to afford in such a short amount of time.

I am doing everything I can to move forward, and I am asking for urgent support to help me meet this deadline and secure my ability to stay in the country I call home.

Recientemente me enteré, con muy poca antelación, de que tengo una fecha límite crítica para trámites de inmigración. Actualmente estoy solicitando protección legal en Estados Unidos bajo la Ley de Violencia contra la Mujer (VAWA), debido al acoso sexual que sufrí cuando tenía 16 años.

Desafortunadamente, solo tengo hasta el 11 de mayo para avanzar con mi caso. Si no lo logro, tendré que abandonar el país permanentemente, con poca posibilidad de regresar. Esto es devastador para mí, ya que toda mi vida está aquí: mi familia, mis amigos y todo lo que he construido con tanto esfuerzo.

Me gradué de la preparatoria antes de tiempo y desde entonces he estado trabajando, haciendo todo lo posible para crear un futuro estable y exitoso para mí. Estos documentos son esenciales para presentar mi solicitud, pero son demasiado caros y me resulta muy difícil costearlos en tan poco tiempo.
