I'm Max, and I've been moving around for a while. From April of 2023 through early September of 2024, I had to foster my beloved elderly cat, Portia, with a nearby relative while I was living somewhere unsafe for her. Finally, a little over eight months ago, I was able to bring her home to a nice house with a beautiful fenced-in backyard she would grow to love.

Unfortunately, a few months before her seventeenth birthday, Portia developed cancer. I did my best to provide palliative care, and she's still fighting hard, but in the last few days it has become clear that the pain is finally getting to her.

Right now, all my money is going to rent and necessities, and the cost of at-home euthanasia so that Portia can quietly go to sleep in the garden she loves so much is $450. So I'm doing my best to raise that for her.
