please read the update

This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. My dad, David Allen Brown, is currently on Hospice (since the beginning of October), and we've been told that his time is very limited. My heart has been broken since I got the news, and all I want is to be by his side in Nebraska while I still can.

I live in Illinois, and the cost of traveling back and forth is more than I can manage right now. I'm asking for help with gas and travel expenses so I can be there with him, hold his hand, and make the most of whatever time we have left.

Any support I receive will go directly toward getting me to Nebraska and back to Illinois. Anything left over will be used for his funeral expenses when that time comes, something no child ever feels prepared for. This will be my second time having to plan for a funeral for one of my parents. 8 years apart. But I want to give him the dignity and love he deserves.

This is an incredibly painful time, and I'm grateful for any help-whether it's a donation, a share, or simply keeping my dad and my family in your thoughts and prayers!

[My dad's birthday is coming up on Monday, November 24th. I have work off Wednesday, November 19th-23rd to be able to go see my dad. My dad and I never really had that great of a relationship, so this is also very important to me to be able to see him before he passes so I can forgive him and tell him "I love you" one last time in person... Something that I wish I would have been able to tell my mom before she was found passed away 6 days later.].
