My name is Shaq'Khi, and I never thought I would be in a position where I had to ask for help like this.

I'm reaching out because my dog, Turtle, is fighting for his life.

Turtle is 8 years old and has been my loyal companion through some of the hardest and most important moments of my life. He's more than a pet to me—he's family, my best friend, and a constant source of comfort and love.

Recently, Turtle's health began to decline rapidly. He started losing weight, stopped eating normally, became extremely lethargic, began vomiting, and developed bloody urine. After taking him to the veterinary hospital, I received heartbreaking news.

The veterinary team found that Turtle has a perineal hernia and severe changes to his prostate. His prostate is significantly enlarged and contains fluid-filled pockets that may be abscesses, cysts, infection, or other serious abnormalities. The veterinarian explained that they are deeply concerned about his condition and believe that surgery will likely be necessary to give him the best chance of recovery.

They also warned me that Turtle could become septic if his condition worsens, which is life-threatening.

At this time, Turtle needs additional diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, urine culture, and an abdominal ultrasound. Based on those results, he will likely need surgical treatment that may include neutering and additional prostate surgery.

Turtle is currently taking antibiotics and pain medication. While there have been some encouraging signs—he is still drinking water, urinating, and the blood in his urine appears to have improved—he remains very weak, struggles to stand, and is still not eating normally. I am doing everything I can to help him.

Unfortunately, I am currently facing financial hardship and have been denied multiple financing options. Despite my efforts, I do not have the resources needed to cover the cost of the diagnostics, treatment, hospitalization, and surgery that Turtle may require.

As difficult as it is to ask, I am asking for help because I am not ready to give up on him.

Turtle has given me years of unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship. Right now, I am trying to give him the same chance.
