Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm a Vet Student in Costa Rica. I've always been passionate about rehabilitating and rehoming animals and I've recently come in contact with some cows and four horses (two that are pregnant) that desperately need our help. They are used in my school to practice and learn on them and even though it's very necessary to do so, I find it heartbreaking that we "use" them and then once the semester is over, they are sent to the slaughterhouse. This is a very normal practice to do if you can't find productive uses for these animals anymore. I've had the pleasure of working with these animals this semester and, like every animal, I think they deserve to live a happy and long life after having a rough life and in some cases, after being mistreated. I want to use these funds to give them the life they deserve and to rehabilitate them whilst we find them their forever homes.

 

The funds will be used to buy the horses and cows from the University, buy their medicine and supplements, get one of the horses physical therapy which they are in need of, buy them their high quality food so they can get healthy and pay for their transportation to their forever homes. We will also need help with building a very basic stall for some of the people adopting these animals. All receipts will be shown and their progress will be shared.
