Hi, I’m Heather and I never thought I’d be here.
I’ve been on my own since I was 14. No family to call. No safety net. Just me, surviving.
This house? It’s the first real home I’ve ever had. The first time my kids and I felt safe.
And now, we’re about to lose it.
What happened:
After a family emergency, I fell behind on two mortgage payments. I was working on catching up when, without warning, the mortgage was sold. The new lender didn’t want to work with me, they wanted our $200,000+ in equity.
They refused payment. Demanded $15,000+ to reinstate the loan. Higher rates. Longer terms.
So I filed for bankruptcy not to walk away, but to protect our home.
Now, I’ve been in active bankruptcy for over a year.
And after my job was just dissolved, we’re hanging by a thread.
One missed payment = foreclosure. No second chances.
To make it harder, my fiancé can’t legally work due to a government error in his immigration case.
We’ve done everything right. The system still failed us.
Why I’m asking:
I hate asking for help.
But this is bigger than pride, this is about keeping a roof over our heads.
Every dollar will go toward keeping our home, staying current, and giving me time to rebuild.
If you can help, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you can share, that’s helping too.
This home is our anchor.
Please help us hold on.
With love,
Heather and family
