A young stray mum has recently given birth to seven kittens in my backyard in Kingsgrove, Sydney and I’m determined to give them a chance at a safe, healthy (non-feral) life.
I want to rescue, socialise, vaccinate, desex, and microchip each of them, then find them loving homes where they can thrive.
I’ve already taken the first step by converting my downstairs bathroom into a makeshift “kitten crèche”, where they can be cared for and socialised safely. I’m fully committed to putting in the time and effort—but the costs are significant.
Unfortunately, I’ve learned that support from the RSPCA NSW isn’t available in my area, as my local council (Bayside) doesn’t participate in their assistance programs.
Estimated Costs
Caring for each kitten—including:
Vaccinations
Microchipping
Desexing
FIV testing
Flea and worm treatments
Medication (including ringworm if needed)
Food, litter, and general care
comes to around $400 per kitten.
How You Can Help
Any contribution will go directly toward giving these kittens the best possible start in life. Even $5 can make a real difference.
If I’m fortunate enough to raise more than needed, any excess funds will be donated to the RSPCA to support their ongoing animal welfare work.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you’re able to give.
