Help Me Save Ra’s Life

Donation protected

On Monday July 21st I brought Ra to the emergency vet.
He was extremely lethargic, I remember saying “It feels like I am carrying a dying old man, he’s not okay.”

Ra turned 10 years old this year. He’s not an old man yet. He’s still a playful, affectionate, curious, cuddly cat.

But after 4 days of him hiding and isolating I knew something was wrong.
I found vomit with blood in it.
He wasn’t coming out to eat or drink.

Upon arriving at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, we found out Ra was severely anemic and dehydrated with a fever that carried on for days.

Ra received 2 emergency blood transfusions that saved his life. His red blood cell count was extremely low due to a bleeding mass in his stomach.

Ra spent 3 nights at the hospital.
Day 1 : 1st blood transfusion
Day 2 : biopsy
Day 3 : 2ed blood transfusion

I wasn’t sure I was going to get to bring my baby home.

By day 3 his condition became stable and his red blood cell count went up to 29% (it was 14% when I brought him in) 30% is when it’s considered ‘normal range’ but the doctors were satisfied with his improvement so after 3 of the most terrifying days of my life, I got to bring Ra home.

For the first week he needed round the clock care, receiving 8 doses of medication throughout a 24 hour cycle.

After 7 days, the biopsy results were in.

Small Cell Gastrointestinal Lymphoma-
without treatment, 6 month life expectancy
with treatment, potentially 2+ years.

His vet bills are already over $10,500 spread across three credit cards. And this is just the beginning.

Ra has started Chemotherapy.

For the rest of his life he will need this treatment as well as recurring blood tests every 7 weeks to make sure he’s staying stable.

I’ve never been great at asking for help.
But this time, it’s not for me, it’s for Ra.

This cat has saved my life more times than I can explain. He’s my guardian angel, my emotional support, my best friend. If you’ve ever met Ra, you know he’s different. He’s not just a pet—he’s family. He’s truly a gift sent from God. My adventure Cat-Dog.

Now it’s my turn to try and save him. I fear this burden is too much for me to carry alone, so I reach out to my community for support.

If you’re in a place to help, even just $20, please consider donating to support medical expenses.
Each dollar moves us one step closer to giving life a chance. And if you can’t donate, just sharing this would mean the world to us.

Ra has so many more adventures left in this lifetime. It’s not his time yet. Please help me give Ra a fighting chance.
