Piper came into my life a few years ago - a small black street cat with the gentlest soul. She was diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) some years back, but with care and love, we managed to keep it under control.
Recently, things took a heartbreaking turn. Piper started vomiting blood, and her bowel function has stopped completely. In addition to her severely inflamed and thickened intestines, new abnormalities have now been found in her liver.
The vets suspect a possible lymphoma in her intestines, and perhaps even a tumor in her liver.
She is currently undergoing tests, treatments, and needs further hospitalization. Every day counts - and every bit of help means the world.
Because of difficult life circumstances over the past years, my savings are completely gone. I’ve always supported animal welfare and donated to others - often more than I could really afford. Asking for help doesn’t come easily to me, but now I have no choice.
Piper is my heart, my family, my reason to keep going. Recently, I also found out that she’s likely around 10 years old now, not 1 as I was told when I rescued her (3 years ago) - meaning I may have far less time with her than I thought. I want to make sure that time, however long it may be, is safe, comfortable, and full of love.
Please help me help her. Any contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to another day together.
From the bottom of my heart - thank you for reading, sharing, or donating.
You’re helping to give Piper a chance to keep fighting.
With love and gratitude,
Antonia
