I am a simple archaeologist who just happens to have no less than 9 Siberian Huskies (don’t ask)!

It is a wonderful pack with the Father (Brage), Mother (Fylgia) and their pups (plus one extra)! Unfortunately, one of the young girls (Nanna) managed to break her leg this evening (Thursday, August 11th 2023) whilst we were out and she was playing and wrestling with her sister Auda.

Nanna is now at the animal hospital here in Malmö, Sweden. She has been x-rayed and It is not a clean break (see te photos)! I have been told that this will require a major operation and that the costs will be very high. Already we are up to 20,000 kronor (1,699 Euros or $1,867 US Dollars) and I have just been told on the phone that it will require 2 operations. Each will cost 41,000 kronor (3,481 Euros, or $3,817 US Dollars). Plus 2 recovery days each with medication after every surgery, each costing 7,000 kronor (594 Euros, or $560 US Dollars), plus an additional 6,000 kronor (509 Euros or $560 US Dollars) for the 2nd set of x-rays, sedation, medicine and so on before the 2nd operation! So in total we are looking at 122,000 Swedish Kronor (10,357 Euros or $11,386 US Dollars)!

I simply do not have this large amount of money on hand as I have already been bled enough money-wise as other family problems have occurred and I had to cancel my dog insurance last year as I could no longer afford it (typical)!!

I also had to sign a paper when Nanna was admitted to the clinic, that besides a substantial amount that I had to pay upfront, I would also have operation is complete I only have 7 days to pay, otherwise the clinic takes over ownership of Nanna, which most likely means they will put her to sleep and add that cost to my bill!

I do not ask for help easily, but with my back to the wall I have no choice and I will do anything to save my Nanna and bring her back to her family! So if any of you have the opportunity to help, then both me and Nanna will be eternally grateful!!!
