Over the past 2.5 years, I have watched my wife pour her life into pursuing her passion and building an amazing business from the ground up. Her business champions small independent craftspeople in the UK, something she strongly believes in and it's been a joy to watch her find her purpose.

I have never seen anyone work as hard as she does, often for 14 hours a day, sacrificing so much while still managing to be the most amazing mom to our daughter, a loving wife to me, and a dear friend to many.

Last weekend, I made a grave error while transporting stock from our house to her pop-up shop. In my haste and thoughtlessness, I left a substantial amount of clothing stock in the back of a hire van. When I returned, the stock had disappeared.

After speaking with Zipcar, the hire company, and learning that only one person had rented the van since, we were hopeful of recovering it.

Unfortunately, Zipcar's refusal to intervene due to ridiculous company policies, even when contacted by police, and the polices hands tied due to workload, we've had to conclude that the stock has been stolen by the van's renter, or thoughtlessly discarded.

This stock is incredibly valuable to my wife’s business. The loss is so significant that it threatens her ability to continue operating. My mistake, compounded by another's actions, has put her livelihood and two years of hard work at risk.

I take full responsibility for this loss, however, the reality is that I simply cannot afford to replace the lost materials, and the likelihood of a police resolution is zero.

I am reaching out to our friends, family, and any other thoughtful individuals to ask for help in recovering the costs of the lost stock. This will allow my wife to continue her business and pursue what she loves.

I understand that there are many important causes in today's world that need our love, attention, and donations. I urge everyone to consider donating to those causes first.
