Hi, my name is Mia as my friends & family may know, and I recently graduated from Ultrasound school. I’ve been doing my best to stay afloat financially, but I’m at a point where I can’t do this alone.
Earlier this year, I rescued a cat who was abandoned by a neighbor at my old apartment. He was underfed, dirty, and wearing a collar that was so tight it was hurting him. I didn’t plan on taking in another animal — I already have two cats — but when I realized he had been left behind, I couldn’t leave him. I told myself I’d foster him until I found a home, but of course, I fell in love with him.
Now, after months of caring for him, he’s suddenly become very sick. He stopped eating, became lethargic, and started peeing on himself. I tried taking him to the Humane Society, but they told me his condition was too urgent for them to treat. I was referred to another clinic, where they charged me just to check him out, but couldn’t move forward with the necessary blood work because I couldn’t afford the $300+ estimate.
Then I discovered an abscess on his foot. I’ve been doing everything I can from home — cleaning the wound, giving him antibiotics I got from the feed store, trying to keep him comfortable — but nothing is helping. He still isn’t eating on his own, and I’m incredibly worried I’m going to lose him if he doesn’t see a vet soon.
This is so hard to ask, but if you can help — any amount — I will be forever grateful. I know times are tough for everyone, but I truly have no other option. He deserves a real shot at getting better, and I just want to give him that.
Please help me get my sweet boy the medical care he needs.
Thank you for reading, donating, and sharing. It means more than you know.
