Help me save my Nanas dog

My name is Jessica; I am starting a GoFundMe in the hopes that I may receive some financial assistance in paying the medical bills for my nanas dog Charlie.

 

Charlie is a very sweet 7-year-old Dachshund mix; I purchased him as a puppy as a gift to my Nana to have a little companion, as she lives alone. She just recently lost her son (my dad) very suddenly and I'm worried about the impact of not having her little dog might have on her.

 

Last month he was taken to his regular veterinarian for vomiting, anorexia and jaundice. After being assessed there, he was quickly referred to Canada West Veterinary Specialist for emergency care. Diagnostics were performed in the hospital, including multiple ultrasounds, bloodwork, and cultures. The resulting diagnosis is suspected cholecystitis, which is basically a bacterial infection of the gallbladder. Luckily, our little Charlie improved quite quickly, only being hospitalized for a few days.

 

As my Nana is retired with very little income, I offered to pay the $3000 invoice.

 

Unfortunately, after only a few weeks, Charlie's symptoms have returned. This time significantly worse. He has now been hospitalized for six days with still no definitive answer as to what is causing his gallbladder to be so inflamed.

 

Charlie will receive a repeat ultrasound tomorrow, and as of today, he has been taken off his antibiotics on switched to steroids in the hopes that it will resolve his symptoms. Although his diagnosis is still unclear, we have high hopes that he will soon be on the way to recovery so he can be ruined with my Nana.

 

As of today, Charlie's current invoice is $7000. I am hoping that some of you will find it in your hearts to donate to Charlie's medical bills; any little bit helps!
