Help Me Save My Motorcycle and Rebuild After Layoffs
Donation protected
Greetings, friends. I never thought I’d find myself in this position but I am out of ideas and time is a factor. After a series of unexpected life events, I’m reaching out to my community for support.
Six months ago, I brought my motorcycle — my only personal vehicle at the time — into the shop for repairs. Around the same time, due to layoffs at the company I was contracting with, after 3 years, my contract was not renewed. I stayed hopeful, I was fortunate to get hired back six months later (just in time for my unemployment to run out). But just three months into the new role, another round of layoffs hit. I was let go again.
Since then, I’ve been driving for Lyft 10–12 hours a day, 6–7 days a week, just trying to stay afloat. But even with the long hours, it’s been barely enough to cover rent, food, and basic bills. My unemployment ran out, and I’m now preparing to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have sold all but a couple of guitars from my collection and have no other assets to liquidate.
The motorcycle repairs ended up costing $3,000 — money I haven’t been able to come up with. Now, the shop is threatening to auction off my bike if I can’t pay the bill soon. That bike is more than just transportation — it represents freedom, stability, mental and emotional well being, and a chance to keep moving forward as I look for my next opportunity in my field.
I’m asking for help to raise $3,000 so I can pay off the repair bill and get my motorcycle back before it’s gone for good. Any amount — no matter how small — would mean the world to me. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign would help more than you know.
If you prefer to donate anonymously, that’s fine but if you include your name (or donate anonymously and message me to let me know you donated) I will endeavor to reimburse you for your kindness when I get back on my feet.
Thank you for reading, and for helping me during one of the hardest chapters of my life.
With gratitude and kindest regards,
Ty
