Hi, my name is Angel Romero. I never thought I would be in a position where I have to ask strangers for help, but today I am asking you to help me save my mom’s life.

I have watched my mom suffer for the past six years in ways no one should ever have to endure. She lives with constant pain, heavy bleeding, and exhaustion caused by severe uterine fibroids (myomas), a cyst, and chronic anemia. Some days she can barely stand from the loss of blood, but she still tries to stay strong for our family.

As her son, there is nothing harder than watching her slowly lose her strength while feeling powerless to help her.

Over the years, she has been under medical care, seen multiple doctors, undergone tests, and followed treatment plans. Despite everything, her condition has continued to worsen. She has experienced severe anemia, emergency hospital visits, and multiple blood transfusions.

Doctors have warned us that her hemorrhaging is dangerous and can become life-threatening. At one point, surgery was considered too risky because of how severe her anemia had become. Even then, we never stopped searching for a safe solution.

We continued seeking help wherever we could. A hospital in Dallas initially began her treatment process and gave us hope. They ran tests and started preparing for surgery. But later, her coverage was reduced and eventually denied because we were not from the same county. Instead of treatment, we were left with a $7,500 hospital bill and no solution.

Just like that, the door closed.

It broke her, and honestly, it broke our family as well.

But we did not give up.

Through a family connection (my uncle Lalo), we were finally able to find a surgeon in Houston who is willing to perform a hysterectomy. This surgery is the only known option to stop the ongoing hemorrhaging and prevent her condition from continuing to worsen.

This surgery is urgent and not optional. Without it, her bleeding and anemia will continue to progress and put her life at serious risk.

The total cost is $17,653, and we simply cannot afford it on our own.

The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 and we are doing everything we can to gather the funds in time. Even if we are unable to raise the full amount before then, any support will still go directly toward her medical care and recovery.

My mom is the heart of our family. She is loving, strong, and full of faith. Even now, she still believes God is making a way for her. She has always taken care of us, and now it is our turn to take care of her.

But we need help.
