I never imagined I would be in a situation where I could lose my home. After living here for 30 years and paying off my house more than a decade ago, I thought I was secure. Unfortunately, I misunderstood the property tax rules for seniors and didn’t sign the right exemptions. Now, a company has bought out my tax debt, and I’m at risk of losing the place I’ve called home for so long.

This house is where I’ve built my life and found comfort. Facing the possibility of losing it is overwhelming and frightening.
