I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m reaching out for help. In mid-February, my car broke down, and it’s been stuck at the Ford Country dealership for over five and a half weeks. The issue is with the car’s computer and electrical system, and despite multiple attempted fixes, nothing has worked. It’s been an exhausting cycle of failed repairs, waiting on Ford Corporate, and more delays, with no clear end in sight.

This has completely upended my life. My main source of income—working for DoorDash and Instacart—depends on having a car. With my vehicle out of commission, I’ve lost nearly all my earnings. I’ve been scraping by on Social Security and a couple of small video editing gigs, but it hasn’t been enough. I’ve fallen behind on rent, bills, and my credit score has taken a hit. My dad has helped as much as he can, but this situation has become overwhelming.

At this point, I’m likely moving on from my car and looking for a cheap, reliable used vehicle so I can start working again. But on top of that, unless something changes, I won’t be able to pay my rent on April 7 and will need to move out.

This is especially stressful because I have two cats who mean the world to me, and finding a new place that will accept pets on short notice is going to be difficult. My goal is to raise enough to cover moving costs (or, hopefully, catch up on rent and stay in my home), put money down on a car, and start getting back on top of my bills.
