Two and a half years ago, my world changed forever when my husband died by suicide. Since then, I have been living with PTSD, and while some days are manageable, others are incredibly difficult. The loss has been compounded by other hardships, and I have been trying to hold on, both emotionally and financially. My husband did not have life insurance, but with his pension, I was able to purchase a double wide modular home in a trailer park. That home became my safe space and a connection to him.
Recently, my PTSD symptoms have become overwhelming, making it impossible for me to work or earn an income. I am grateful to have found a wonderful therapist who is helping me through this, but the struggle has been even harder than right after my husband passed. Without family support and with friends helping as much as they can, I have fallen behind on my lot rent. On December 5th, I was evicted from my home. The landlord refused to work with me, and I watched helplessly as the constable locked up my place. Now, I am staying with a friend in Dillsburg with my dog, feeling heartbroken and lost.
I do not want to lose the home that my husband worked so hard to provide for me. It feels like losing him all over again. I have 30 days to pay the balance owed or I will lose my home and everything in it. Please, if you can help in any way, I would be forever grateful. Every little bit helps, and I promise to pay it forward when I am back on my feet and more stable. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can offer.
