Help My Baby Girl Layla Receive the Urgent Medical Care She Desperately Needs

My name is Suhail, and I am the father of a beautiful baby girl named Layla. She was born on February 21, 2026, in the Gaza Strip.

From the very first day of her life, Layla has faced serious health challenges. She was unable to suck or swallow properly, which forced her to spend her first days in the neonatal intensive care unit. Her ammonia level also became dangerously high, reaching 300. She has needed numerous medical tests, examinations, and specialized treatments.

Unfortunately, many of the tests and treatments Layla needs are not available in Gaza because of the devastating war and the severe shortage of medical resources. This has made an already frightening situation even more difficult for our family.

Layla was first admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit, where she remained for 15 days. She was then discharged for only one day before needing to return to the hospital. After another week in the NICU, she was discharged again and stayed at home for just six days. Once she reached one month of age, she was admitted to the pediatric department instead of the neonatal intensive care unit.

Layla is currently receiving treatment in the pediatric department at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital because she is suffering from pneumonia.

Every day, I take my little daughter to the hospital to have the saliva and mucus in her airways suctioned and cleared, because they can cause her to choke and make it difficult for her to breathe. I have to pay for this care myself, as well as the daily transportation costs to and from the hospital, which have become a heavy financial burden on our family.

Layla also needs specialized treatment to control her high ammonia levels, as well as a special medical formula that is not available in Gaza. The costs of her medical care, tests, medications, transportation, and specialized nutrition are far beyond what I can afford alone.

A medical referral has been prepared for Layla to receive treatment outside Gaza. We are currently waiting on the list for medical evacuation. Unfortunately, her health condition cannot wait for long. Layla urgently needs to travel as soon as possible to receive the specialized medical care that is unavailable in Gaza and to save her life before her condition deteriorates further.

As her father, I am doing everything I can to keep my little girl alive and give her the chance to grow up healthy. But I cannot do this alone.
