Help Me Save My Entire World, My Mom

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Madison and this is my mom Jenn's account. In 2021, my mom underwent genetic testing after my aunt sadly found out she had uterine cancer caused by a gene mutation that she must have inherited from my grandmother, who was also diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer (and whooped its ass before living for almost 15 more years, may I add). Because of this, we found out that my mother tested positive for two genetic mutations that increase your risk for cancer exponentially (BRCA1 & Lynch Syndrome).
Immediately, her team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) got to work to prevent, prepare, and protect. First, she had a full hysterectomy in 2022, causing her to lose her sales job she had been killing it at. Then, when things couldn't get any worse, my mother was isolated from me entirely by her boyfriend, who I thought was just an asshole at first, but then became her abuser.

Broken noses, hands, feet, ribs, bones, and spirit. For two years, he isolated my mother, gaslit her, abused her physically, and psychologically trapped her. He wore her already old, tattered car down until it physically could not run, beat her mercilessly on the occasions I was allowed to visit her during her isolation and outside of those visits as well, and finally, attempted to kill her.
The prevention meticulously planned by her team at DFCI had now been wholly interrupted by this man who ensured she could not work, could not go to her doctors unless it was a Tuesday (his day off) as they regularly had to schedule her preventative appointments on another day of the week.
Finally, in March, it boiled over with his attempt at murdering my mother, first with an attack with a vehicle, then at the end of April with an attack with his hands. This final attempt resulted in true police intervention, saving my mother and now causing an ongoing court case.

In spite of all the suffering, I finally had my mother back.

Then, June came. As if my mother hadn't suffered enough, we received the news. Cancer. Now my mother has undergone lung surgery to begin the process of treatment with no car, no job, only a social security check, and only me as her support system. With chunks of her lung missing, as she still recovers from the physical and psychological wounds she had suffered, we have still fought. Scraped together money, maxed out credit cards, borrowed and pleaded. As we await her full pathology, our life has only spiraled.

My mother has been my rock my entire life. I have never ever met someone as kind, patient, funny, loving, and sweet as her. Despite the struggles we have faced together, including homelessness, abuse, and poverty, my mother has always been the best person I could ever rely on. I don't have a big girl job, I don't have the money to pay for all of her treatments as well as my college education. With this GoFundMe, I would be able to afford to fix her car, secure transportation to her future radiation/chemotherapy appointments, guarantee that she has a safe and reliable means of transportation to get to and from a number of appointments for her next planned cancer risk-reducing surgery, a double mastectomy, never mind the numerous annual, and sometimes bi-annual, quarterly, and even monthly appointments to monitor her for the multiple other cancers a diagnosis of the genetic mutations BRCA1 and Lynch Syndrome brings. In addition to assisting with covering the legal fees necessary to try my mother's case against her abuser.

I understand the state of the world and the economy right now and any traction to this would help. A share, well wishes, a donation, a prayer—whatever anyone can spare, I would appreciate more than anyone could ever know. My entire life it has only ever been myself and my mother. I do not know what type of life I will lead without her, and I am afraid of a future where we cannot reliably pursue her treatment. Please help me save my entire world.

Thank you,
Madison
