I never thought I’d be writing something like this.
My dog isn’t “just a pet” he’s my constant companion, my emotional anchor, and the reason I get through some very hard days. He’s a 70-lb lab/pointer mix who is loyal, protective, and full of life. He loves running, chasing dragonflies, and being close to me whenever he can.
A few days ago, everything changed in an instant.
He suddenly stopped putting weight on his back leg. At first, I hoped it was just a minor sprain. I checked him carefully, kept him resting, and watched him closely, but something wasn’t right. When we finally got into the vet, my worst fear was confirmed: he has a torn ACL (called a CCL in dogs).
Without treatment, this injury causes chronic pain, arthritis, and loss of mobility. With proper surgery and recovery, dogs can go back to happy, active, pain-free lives.
The problem is the cost.
The recommended surgery for a dog his size is several thousand dollars, and I simply don’t have that kind of money. I work full-time, but after basic living expenses, there’s nothing left for an emergency like this. I would do anything for him — and that’s why I’m here asking for help, even though it’s incredibly hard to do.
Right now, he’s resting, confused about why he can’t run or jump anymore. He still tries to be brave. He still looks at me with total trust. And that’s what breaks my heart the most — he trusts me to take care of him.
Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward:
• His ACL surgery
• Post-op care and medications
• Physical recovery so he can walk, run, and live without pain
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping me give my best friend the chance to live a full, pain-free life again.
