Help me save my cat Snowball

Hi for those who don’t know me, my name is Bridget. For all that do, hi! I wouldn’t be doing this is I didn’t desperately need help to save my cat Snowball to get him the surgery he needs in order to live a healthy and happy life. I’m so used to helping others but not used to asking help for myself.

A little backstory on Snowball. He is a friend to all who know him and you can’t help but fall in love with him. I rescued/adopted Snowball 3 years ago from RSVP. I saw his picture online asking if anyone wanted to give this “feral” guy a chance at a new life. I saw his picture and immediately knew he was meant to be part of our family. As soon as he got to me I knew he’d be with my family forever.

Snowball needs a perineal urethrostomy (sometimes referred to as a PU) it is a surgical procedure that is most commonly performed on male cats with a urinary obstruction. This procedure removes the narrowest part of the urethra (the tube that transports the urine from the bladder to the exterior of the body), allowing easier urination with a lower risk of reobstruction. The urethra is widened and will allow him to pass obstructions easier and won’t have to be hospitalized every time this happens. He has had a cystotomy in July but has reblocked since then.

He is currently at the vet now receiving the care he needs to get through this but will ultimately need the surgery to be able to live.
